Allan Stratton

Allan Stratton is the internationally acclaimed author of The Dogs (winner of the Red Maple Award), Chanda's Wars winner of the Canadian Library Association Young Adult Book Award), the Michael L. Printz Honour Book Chanda's Secrets, Curse of the Dream Witch (winner of the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children Award), the Governor General's finalist The Grave Robber's Apprentice and the ALA Best Books Borderline and Leslie’s Journal. Chanda's Secrets was turned into The Cannes Film Festival award-winning film, Life, Above All. His latest book for young adult readers is The Way Back Home a funny, moving novel about family, love and forgiveness.

Allan is also an accomplished playwright and an actor. When he isn’t busy writing or performing, he is travelling. Allan has safaried in Africa, hiked the Great Wall of China; explored pyramids in Egypt; crawled through Viet Cong tunnels in Vietnam and flown over Cappadocia in a balloon. He has visited Easter Island and temples in Thailand a Cambodia; skied the Alpes; toured the Arctic and swum with sharks.
