Can these twin brothers find a way to get along?

Owen lives to hit the hardwood during basketball season, while his fraternal twin brother Russell is all about his Masters of the Mind team. The two of them couldn't be any more different if they tried.

Trouble starts when a new coach takes over the basketball team. He wants Russell's height at centre court and Russell's surprising skills soon threaten Owen's court time; the family athlete suddenly finds himself in the unfamiliar and unpleasant position of riding the bench.

Meanwhile, Russell is ready to lead his Masters of the Mind team to victory at Regionals. But when Arthur Richardson the Third bullies his way onto the team with an eye on Russell's leadership spot, Russell realizes that the only way to save his season is to get Owen's help with a strategy to take back the team.

When the dust settles, the Evans twins know they have more in common than they'd ever imagined and they're ready to face the future as brothers and friends.

Praise for Athlete vs. Mathlete:

"Offering an honest and funny representation of sibling rivalry and peer pressure, this contemporary tale, told from the boys' alternating points of view, ought to find a large fan base." —Publishers Weekly

"There's wit as well as painful reflection in the novel, which shows both boys developing unrecognized talents behind their cool jock and proud nerd facades." —Booklist

"[A] fun, fast-paced novel . . . Despite some serious moments, the story is entertaining and appealing, providing some good points for discussion." —Resource Links
