Dear Canada: A step back in time

AUTHORS

Dear Reader

I was drawn to the Dear Canada series because of the realistic approach regarding the characters. It brings living, breathing history to children with characters who are not much different from themselves. I write a lot of historical fiction and it has always struck me how emotionally people are the same. No matter if it is the 1800s or the 2000s, love, jealousy, fear, or hatred have no time or geographic boundaries. And I believe kids take comfort in recognizing that Harriet in 1862 is scared the same as themselves in 2005.
