I’m Home!

It’s hard to believe I was in Kenya for a whole month, having the experience of a lifetime. This may sound weird, but I feel that I have a much better grasp of who I am now. Not only was I educated about world issues, but I learned that I can make a difference just by doing simple actions, such as holding a bake sale.

Now that I’ve returned to Toronto, I feel like my life has changed forever. And it all began by taking a simple step into the unknown. Change is possible, but you have to work toward it as a team. So what’s up for the future? I want to keep this sense of fulfillment. We set out to Kenya to help people, but in the process I helped myself. I now understand what I want to do with my life, and that’s to help others.

My classmates and I are planning a speaking tour about our experiences in Kenya. We want to inspire students to help make change, just like we did. I’m getting nervous and excited just thinking about it!
