Non-fiction Side:

• Introduces non-fiction text features, such as a table
of contents, captions, illustrations, photographs,
and a glossary
Fiction Side:
• Allows students to make text-to-self, text-to-text,
and
text-to-world connections
Teaching Support
• Each flip book has an 8-page teaching card for
guided reading lessons on the non-fiction side and
suggestions for how to use the fiction side. The fiction
side is levelled 1–2 levels lower, allowing the teacher
options for how to best use the fiction side (mini-book
clubs, independent, or guided reading)
