Chapter 7 - The Fourth-Grade Wrecking Crew
"I hate you, Justin Zeckendorf!"
Justin stared at Jessica. "Me? What did I do?"
"I was rehearsing Clorinda in front of my parents," the young actress pouted. "And right in the middle of everything, I sneezed, because you made me get a scratchy throat! I hate your guts!"
Then she spilled the beans about the McClintocks' living room in front of the whole class. So when the three Z's were called to the office, there was no mystery about it.
The principal was very angry. "Every other group in every other grade is doing just fine! We've got kindergartners running errands and carrying parcels without so much as a single incident! And you have become the fourth-grade wrecking crew! What do you have to say for yourselves?"
"We're sorry," mumbled Margaret and Jessica in unison.
Justin's mind was somewhere else. "Mr. Ortiz, when we go to Tidal Wave Water Park, do they have changing rooms? Or do you have to wear your bathing suit under your clothes?"
They were kicked out of the office.
Justin was disgusted. "I can't believe Mr. McClintock ratted us out! He used to be so cool!"
Margaret scowled at him. "People usually get less cool when you trash their living room!"
They entered Mr. Carter's classoom. The bulletin board greeted them:
"Zzzzz!"
