WiggleWorks sets the standard for beginning-reading software with a blend of technology, literature, and teacher support. WiggleWorks provides levelled reading practice, built-in instruction, and motivation to engage students in reading and writing. WiggleWorks helps teachers scaffold instruction and move students toward reading independence.

WiggleWorks books and software provide reading instruction in five key areas: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

WiggleWorks provides students with numerous writing activities. Students can write responses to the stories they read or create their own versions, both on the computer and offline. Research demonstrates the positive impact WiggleWorks has on all aspects of children's writing-skill development, including content, style, and mechanics.

WiggleWorks is interactive—it reinforces print concepts in multiple forms so students can internalize those concepts. All students, including second-language learners, become more fluent and confident readers.

Wiggleworks Helps All Beginning Readers
WiggleWorks is designed to support the needs of all young learners. The resource provides specific features to meet the needs of struggling readers, students with special needs, and English language learners.

Struggling Readers
Many struggling readers lack exposure to books at home and need extra help to understand even the most basic aspects of reading, such as tracking words from left to right and top to bottom. With the WiggleWorks software, teachers can choose how text is read and highlighted by the narrator in order to appropriately support students as they develop tracking skills and fluency.

Students with Special Needs
Students with special needs who face either cognitive or physical challenges benefit from the WiggleWorks software. WiggleWorks was created in consultation with the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) — www.cast.org. CAST specializes in designing multimedia curriculum that uses the principles of Universal Design to provide a flexible and customizable environment for all students. WiggleWorks supports students with special needs through text, graphics, speech, sounds, and customizable access features.
English Language Learners
All children, including English language learners, benefit from listening to the same story multiple times, hearing new words repeated, and seeing pictures that make words more meaningful. WiggleWorks allows students to hear a word or story repeated as needed.
