Ice Time

Rocket’s right winger was barrelling in on the forecheck, the puck in the corner. Rocket figured the opposing defenceman would probably try to shovel it up the wall to his winger. Decision time: Stay with Jonathon or trust his gut and head to the boards? This was no time to play it safe. He had an NHL team to make.

Rocket has waited his whole life for this—his first NHL training camp! He knows how hard it is for a rookie to make the team, so he’s disappointed but not entirely surprised when he’s sent down to the AHL for some seasoning. He’s determined to make the best of it, work on his defensive game and prove that he’s ready for the big league. But when he gets to his new team, he finds an old nemesis waiting for him and watches a new friend’s injury nearly end his career. Rocket will have to survive a coach’s animosity and an injury of his own if he wants to make his NHL dream come true at last… because there is no Plan B.
