Q: When are new ANIMORPHS books available in stores?
A: New books should be available in stores by the middle of the month prior to its publication date. For example, a January title (as is identified on the back of the title page) is usually in stores by early-to-mid December.

Q: Do I need to read the ANIMORPHS books in order?
A: No. Each ANIMORPHS book can be enjoyed on its own, with the possible exception of the three 'David' books (#20, #21 and #22). However, many fans find it most fun to read them in order.

Q: What is the difference between an ANIMORPHS book and the MEGAMORPHS books?
A: MEGAMORPHS books are special edition titles with longer adventures (more pages) and alternating voices - each ANIMORPHS book is "told" by one character, but the MEGAMORPHS have different characters continue the story with each new chapter.

Q: What are the "Chronicles" books?
A: These special edition "prequels" (THE ANDALITE CHRONICLES, THE HORK-BAJIR CHRONICLES, etc.) tell a story about the different alien races in ANIMORPHS before the Yeerks invaded earth.

Q. Whats an ALTERNAMORPHS book?
A. An ALTERNAMORPHS book is a "choose your own adventure" book. They give you a chance to decide the fate of your favorite characters.

Q: Why aren't there more Tobias and Ax books?
A: Because of the nature of these two characters (hawk and Andalite), Tobias and Ax initially had less to relate about the ANIMORPHS and their adventures. But, as their roles and involvement continue to grow, so will their number of books.

Q: Why are the ANIMORPHS morphing in regular clothes on the covers?
A: Although having the characters morph with shoes and loose clothing is inaccurate to the books, Scholastic and artist David B. Mattingly preferred depicting the characters in realistic everyday clothing, rather than "morphing outfits." It makes the images more interesting, since the best part of the morphs artistically is when there is a complex blend of colors and fabric folds.
For more Q&A about the book artist and his covers, visit the David B. Mattingly Q&A and Bio sections in the Books area of the ANIMORPHS Web site.

Q: Why isn't some information, like future book titles and story descriptions, posted earlier?
A: Since book titles and schedules, as well as those of the TV show, are subject to many changes, ANIMORPHS information is not posted on the official Web site until it is final, complete and accurate - and that is what you get when you find something new on the official ANIMORPHS Web site.

Q: Why don't you have a chat room on the Web site?
A: Unfortunately, Scholastic does not have the resources to accommodate a live, moderated chat room for the very large audience that a chat room would most likely house.

Q: When I try to download a picture from the downloading page, it doesn't work. It just shows me a picture of that book cover, but it doesn't put in on my computer. Why?
A: You most likely have your preferences set so that your browser "views" the picture automatically, instead of downloading it as a file to your hard drive. If you want to save it, select "Save as..." from your File menu and save it to your computer.

Q: I have NetZip on my hard drive, but how come after I download the Yerkpool game without incident, I can't find the file on my computer?
A: This is a very common problem -- figuring out how to save and find files on your computer. Since each operating system is a little different (Windows 3.1, Windows95, Macintosh, etc.), we can't explain them all to our users. We can, however, suggest that before you save ANYTHING to your hard drive -- whether it is a downloaded file or picture -- WRITE DOWN where you are saving it to, and the NAME of the file. Then, afterwards, you can follow that directory/path to find your file, or do a "FIND" using your computer.

Q: Because most of your pages on the ANIMORPHS Web site have white letters on a black background, I am unable to get a print-out of those pages. Is there a solution to this problem?
A: Try clicking and dragging across the text, select COPY, paste the text into your favorite word-processing application, and then print normally.
